The Royal Cornwall Yacht Club’s iconic four-yearly Azores and Back (AZAB) Race enters an exciting new era in 2027. Renowned as one of the world’s premier short-handed ocean races, we have ambitious plans to develop it into a more outward-facing event that showcases Cornwall to an international audience.
A new Sunday race start will pave the way for a public open day in Falmouth on the Saturday, bringing the excitement of race weekend to a wider audience. Through the ‘Where the Wind Blows’ and ‘Adopt a Yacht’ initiative, schools and businesses will be able to connect with competing crews and follow their progress throughout the race via real-time yacht tracking.
Alongside the sporting challenge, AZAB 2027 presents a compelling commercial opportunity, with title sponsorship and partnership opportunities that offer both international visibility and genuine local impact.
There are high visibility branding opportunities afloat and ashore, maximising reach and impact, giving you direct access to a wide audience beyond the sailing world.
We are aiming for the event to have a strong Cornwall focus and will be involving the local community including a programme for local primary schools where volunteers from your business could get involved.
