Social
Clubhouse
The Clubhouse is a social hub both in & out of the Sailing season. With an exciting selection of food options, RCYC is a great place to gaze out over the water, meet friends & socialise. As well as the social activities revolving around the water, such as Race Nights, Kayaking & our Junior Sailing Programme, we have a broad calendar of events when the sailing is over.
Our large screen on the Upper Deck means you can watch in comfort, maybe with a drink or two, major sporting events such as Sail GP, Wimbledon & the Rugby World Cup
.
Winter Programme
Our talks cover a variety of fascinating topics, quizzes are ever popular with other events such as wine & beer tasting filling the programme.
Over the years we have had talked from a variety of speakers from David Barnicoat to Betty Stogs.
In early December we hold a Craft Fair with a special visit from Father Christmas with many other festive events leading up to Christmas Eve at the club and a fun time on New Year’s Eve.
For more information about our Winter Programme go to What’s On
Book Group
We have a well established Book Group that usually meets on the first Friday of the month. The members meet for coffee, discuss the book and then some stay to lunch to continue the conversation.
The books are chosen by the members and recent books have been: Lessons in Chemistry by Bonnie Garmus and The Offing by Benjamin Myers. A full list of book titles can be found here. Details of the next meeting are in What’s On.
For this year we are launching a new evening Book Group called the RCYC Pot Luck Book Group, they will meet on a Thursday evening on the first Thursday of the month. The first book for discussion on 3rd October is Pot Luck by Nick Fisher.
Supper club evenings
Alongside the menu, our Supper Club evenings offer an excellent chance to eat in a larger group, either on a themed evening, a Feast Night or just as an opportunity to share a dining experience together. In the Autumn & Winter our regular Sunday walks to the Cornish coast & countryside culminate in a delicious lunch back at the Clubhouse.
