Pickle Night – Commemorating HMS Pickle

An informal version of Pickle night with guest Steve Dawes who is related to James Bowen the caption of the Queen Charlotte (commanded by Admiral Richard Howe) which in 1794  led the line against the French. It was known as the Battle of the Glorious First of June. They went through the line of French ships with the Bellerophon next in line that also served at Trafalgar.  James Bowen was Steve’s great, great grandfather and he has many tales to tell!
