2024 Sigma 33 National Championships and Ballad National Championships

June 20th – 24th.

The club is delighted to be organising authority for the Sigma 33 Offshore One Design Class (Sigma 33 OOD Association) and UK Ballad Class (UK Ballad Association) national championships which overlap in June.

The Sigma will be racing from June Thursday 20th until Sunday 23rd and the Ballad from Saturday 22nd to Monday 24th.

Both classes have been here before.

Twenty-five Sigma came in 2001 and raced in winds up to 40kts.  The winner was Irish boat Pepsi (Alan Milton) from Lucent (Ben Richards) and local boat Tresillian (David Jinks).

Tresillian had won in 1997 at Yarmouth and would win again in 2005 at Torquay in the hands of current Falmouth owner, John Beavis.

The Ballads came to St Mawes Sailing Club in 2011, Mylor Yacht Club in 2015, and the Royal Cornwall in 2019.

The Organising Authority is RCYC Sailing Ltd.
