Individual adult membership

Fields marked with an * are required. The Club welcomes new members of all interests. The objects of the Club are the encouragement of yacht sailing, racing, cruising (both power and sail), and the maintenance of a Clubhouse for the use of the Members.

The UKGDPR place emphasis on transparency and accountability, and require businesses of all sizes to be responsible for safeguarding the collection, storage and usage of personal data, stating that the protection of personal data is an individual’s fundamental right. In addition, they require us to inform you of any third parties to which we release your personal information.
What we do with the information:
Only process information necessary to establish or maintain your membership.
Only process information necessary to provide or administer activities of the Club.
Only share the information with people and organisations necessary to carry out the Club’s activities. At present these are our Handbook publisher, our external support services (computers etc), and the RYA (for ensign permits only).
Only keep the information whilst you are a Member (or as long as is necessary).
What we do not do:
We do not share information with third parties for commercial purposes.
The UKGDPR require the Club to seek your “informed consent” to allow us to hold this Personal Data in our records, to process it and to continue to communicate with you as a Club Member.

I wish to apply for Full Membership;
a) I understand and support the Objects of the Club;
b) I understand the Club is a company limited by guarantee. In the event of its being wound up while I remain a Member, or within twelve months thereafter, I undertake to guarantee an amount not exceeding £1 towards its liabilities;
c) I have read the entry fees document and agree to pay the annual subscription due and the entrance fee by direct debit mandate; and
d) I hereby agree as a member of the Royal Cornwall Yacht Club to abide by the Club Rules and Bye-laws.

I agree to having my name and contact details published in the annual Members’ Handbook. (You have a right to opt out of this, but that would mean your fellow Members would not necessarily know how to contact you.) Members names and contact details are published in the Club Handbook solely for the use of individual members being able to contact each other on a one to one basis. The information it contains is not meant for mass emailing or canvassing and any member and doing so may result in that member being subject to club rule 14 (Expulsion of members)
